This policy applies to all users of PlayYofi globally, including users in the EU, UK, Canada, and the United States.

PlayYofi ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your data when you use the PlayYofi platform, website, and related services.

By using PlayYofi, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, email address, date of birth, role (athlete/coach)
  • Profile information: sport, position, school/institution, GPA, graduation year, biography
  • Media: profile photos, banner images, highlight videos
  • Communications: messages sent through the platform, support requests
  • Verification data: institutional email, credentials submitted by coaches

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, search queries, time on platform
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5)

Information from Third Parties

  • Authentication data if you sign in via Google or other OAuth providers
  • Public information from linked social media profiles (if you connect them)

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the PlayYofi platform
  • Create and manage your user account and profile
  • Enable discovery between athletes and coaches
  • Facilitate messaging and community features
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, notifications)
  • Send marketing communications (with your consent, opt-out available)
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines

PlayYofi uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience. Types of cookies we use:

9. Security

  • All data in transit is encrypted using TLS/SSL
  • Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256
  • Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only
  • We conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users as required by law

10. International Data Transfers

PlayYofi operates globally. Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. For EU/UK users, we ensure such transfers comply with GDPR through Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards.

11. Children's Privacy

PlayYofi is not intended for children under 13. Users between 13–17 are subject to our Youth Safety Policy with additional privacy protections. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact safety@playyofi.com immediately.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last Updated" date. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
